Mountain Peak Coffee

About

Roasted at 5,280 feet, shipped to your door

The story behind Mountain Peak Coffee, and why we still roast in batches small enough to taste-test by hand.

OUR STORY

Started with one drum roaster and a folding table

Mountain Peak Coffee began in 2016 in a small garage roastery outside Denver, roasting green coffee on a single-drum machine and selling bags out of a folding table at the Saturday farmers market. What hasn’t changed since is the batch size: we still roast small, so every batch gets tasted before it ships.

Today we work with growers in Colombia, Ethiopia and Guatemala, roast several times a week, and ship nationwide — but the goal is the same one we started with: a cup that tastes like it was roasted for you, not for a warehouse shelf.

OUR MISSION

Fresh coffee, honestly sourced, at a fair price for growers

Freshness First

Every bag is roasted to order and dated, because coffee starts losing its character within weeks of roasting — not months.

Fair to Growers

We pay above commodity pricing through direct-trade relationships, and visit our partner farms every year.

Honest Labeling

Roast date, origin and tasting notes on every bag — no vague “best by” dates hiding how old the beans really are.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Not your average bag of beans

Roast-to-order, not warehoused

We don’t pre-roast large runs and let them sit — your order triggers the roast batch.

Small-batch quality control

Batches are capped small enough that our head roaster tastes every single one before it ships.

Direct-trade, not just “ethically sourced”

We name our farm partners and pay negotiated prices well above commodity market rate.

Built for how you actually brew

Grind recommendations and brew guides ship with every order, from espresso to cold brew.
